A 99.5% purity lithium carbonate used as the lithium source in cathode synthesis. When mixed with a precursor material and calcined it converts into cathode material. Its magnetic substance content of ≤100 ppb is critical, as magnetic impurities such as iron and nickel can cause internal short circuits within the cell.
