The classic ternary cathode precursor with nickel, cobalt and manganese in approximately equal proportions. At 19.5-23.5 m²/g it has the highest surface area in the precursor series, meaning a very large contact area with the lithium source and a fast reaction. It is used as a reference material in studies developing synthesis methods.
