A halide-based solid electrolyte with the composition Li3InCl6. Halide electrolytes strike a balance between the high conductivity of sulfides and the oxidative stability of oxides; their most notable advantage is the ability to contact high-voltage cathode materials directly. This removes the need for additional coating in cathode composites.
Key Features
- Contacts high-voltage cathode materials directly, with no additional coating required
- Wider oxidative stability window compared with sulfides
- Formable structure compatible with cold pressing
