An elastomeric binder used together with CMC in graphite anode electrodes. Its rubber structure flexes to accommodate the anode's volume change during charge and discharge; unlike PVDF it is not brittle. At 40% solid content it is the most concentrated of the water-based binders.
Key Features
- Elastomeric structure that flexes to accommodate anode volume change
- The most concentrated of the water-based binders at 40% solid content
- Very low viscosity of ≤50 mPa·s for easy blending into the slurry
