An olivine-structured lithium iron phosphate cathode material. The strong P-O covalent bond in the phosphate group prevents oxygen release even at elevated temperatures, making LFP one of the safest options among cathode families in terms of thermal safety. Free of nickel and cobalt, it is advantageous for both raw material cost and supply security.
