The classic ternary cathode material with nickel, cobalt and manganese in approximately equal proportions. Its capacity is lower than high-nickel grades, but its structural and thermal stability is markedly higher. As the ternary composition with the longest history and broadest reference data in the literature, it is the preferred starting point for comparative studies.
