A small plating cell used to deposit a thin gold film chemically (electrolessly) onto the surface of the silicon crystal for ATR-SEIRAS. The crystal is placed in the cell and the plating solution is added so that only the measuring surface is wetted.
The chemically deposited gold film serves both as conductive electrode substrate and as the source of the surface-enhanced signal in ATR-SEIRAS.
