The single-chamber open glass cell is the most basic setup for three-electrode (working, counter and reference) voltammetry. The electrode holes in the lid have variable diameters (6.5 / 8.5 / 10.5 / 12.5 mm, manufacturer data), so electrodes with different shaft diameters fit the same lid.
The rim of the cell mouth is flanged for strength. A salt bridge, gas inlet/outlet port or gas purging can be added on request; because the cell is not sealed, purging only provides atmosphere protection.
The body is made of borosilicate glass 3.3, which has low thermal expansion (3.3 × 10⁻⁶ K⁻¹) and the highest resistance classes against water (HGB 1) and acids (S 1). Avoid sudden temperature differences above 120 °C to reduce the risk of breakage.
The single-layer body is a simple, economical choice for routine measurements at room temperature. If temperature control is needed, choose the jacketed version of the same cell.
