The compact single-chamber photoelectrochemical cell is a small closed cell for spectroelectrochemistry and photocatalytic electrochemistry. It has three electrode ports and a spare plug, and oxygen can be removed by purging with nitrogen. The window is quartz and the seals are FKM (Viton).
The body comes in three materials: PTFE (wide chemical resistance), PMMA/acrylic (transparent body, electrodes visible from outside) and PEEK (high mechanical strength). PEEK is an engineering polymer with high mechanical strength. It is not suitable for concentrated sulfuric acid, nitric acid or strongly oxidizing media.
