This cell allows gas diffusion electrodes to be used under illumination (photoelectrocatalysis). Waterproof, gas-permeable materials such as carbon cloth or carbon paper, or porous electrodes such as metal foam and RVC, are used at the cathode.
The cathode gas inlet uses a serpentine channel to increase interaction between gas and catalyst. Use with a gas humidifier is recommended when humidified gas is needed.
