In conventional gas diffusion flow cells the catalyst faces away from the light; this cell solves that problem so light reaches the catalyst surface directly.
It is mainly used for photoelectrocatalytic flow systems such as CO₂RR and NRR. Compartments are separated by a replaceable ion-exchange membrane.
The optional electric water-management unit on a vertical stand makes positioning the cell and liquid handling easier.
