A membrane electrode assembly (MEA) electrolyser sandwiches a gas diffusion electrode, ion-exchange membrane and anode between cathode and anode flow plates; with no liquid electrolyte gap between the electrodes (zero gap), cell resistance is low and current densities close to industrial scale can be reached.
The cathode and anode bipolar plates are imported high-purity PTFE with excellent corrosion resistance; the clamping plates are high-purity titanium.
The flow channels are separate PTFE parts, usually serpentine, with channel thickness down to 0.1 mm. Channels of different thickness can be fitted to change flow conditions for each experiment.
| Bipolar plate | PTFE |
| Clamping plate | Titanium |
| Channel | Replaceable PTFE, serpentine, ≥ 0.1 mm |
| Flow field | 30 × 30 mm (larger on request) |
The "Other" option covers 50 × 50 mm, 100 × 100 mm and custom sizes; price is set by quotation.
Dimensions, channel sizes and volume can be customised on request; please state special requirements in your quotation request.
