Aluminum foil serving as the current collector for cathode electrodes. When aluminum contacts the electrolyte at high voltage it forms a protective oxide/fluoride layer on its surface; this passivation is the primary reason aluminum is used rather than copper on the cathode side. Offered in three thickness options.
