Fumasep FAA-3-PK-130 is a PK-reinforced anion exchange membrane that conducts anions such as OH⁻ or Cl⁻. Its dry thickness is 110–130 µm; the reinforcement makes it mechanically robust, easy to handle and suitable for dry or wet assembly. It is delivered dry, in the bromide (Br⁻) form, as a 100 × 100 mm sheet.
Compared with its sibling FAA-3-50 it is roughly twice as thick and has higher area resistance (1.8–4.0 Ω·cm²), but it is more robust. It is preferred in cells with pressure differences, long experiments or frequent reassembly. For alkaline electrolysis and fuel cells it is converted to the OH⁻ form in NaOH or KOH before use; in that form keep it wet in a closed container to avoid carbonate formation.
