W0S1011 is a plain woven carbon cloth without PTFE treatment or a microporous layer (MPL). It is about 0.36 mm thick, has very low through-plane resistance (< 5 mΩ·cm²) and high gas permeability. It is supplied as a 400 × 400 mm sheet and can be cut to size.
Its sibling W1S1011 is a ready-made GDL with PTFE and MPL; W0S1011 is untreated. Without water-repellent PTFE, liquid electrolyte enters its pores more easily; this is what "hydrophilic" means here. It suits work where you coat your own MPL or catalyst layer, cells needing a flexible electrode substrate, and electrodes that should be wetted by liquid electrolyte.
