An improved version of the Ag/AgCl-referenced battery component evaluation cell: a membrane (separator) can be fixed between the positive and negative electrodes and exchanged easily. A PEEK-bodied three-electrode test cell designed for component (electrode, electrolyte, separator) evaluation at the early development stage of lithium-ion batteries. The positive and negative electrodes are 5 mm apart and the cell runs on less than 1 mL of electrolyte (manufacturer data); tightening the left and right screws compresses corrosion-resistant O-rings for sealing. The reference electrode is a Ø2 mm Ag/AgCl electrode and is included.
