A PEEK-bodied three-electrode test cell designed for component (electrode, electrolyte, separator) evaluation at the early development stage of lithium-ion batteries. The positive and negative electrodes are 5 mm apart and the cell runs on less than 1 mL of electrolyte (manufacturer data); tightening the left and right screws compresses corrosion-resistant O-rings for sealing. In this model the reference electrode is a lithium wire, so in non-aqueous (organic) lithium systems potentials are read directly on the Li/Li⁺ scale. Because a lithium reference can drift over time depending on its surface film, preparing it fresh is recommended for long tests.
